Requirements for Container/Dumpster Enclosures

  1. There are no specified guidelines/requirements for the number of dumpsters one can have.
  2. There are no fees required from Auburn Placer Disposal Service.
  3. Plans for dumpster enclosures must be sent to Auburn Placer Disposal Service for review and approval.
  4. No applications etc. are required to start service. Service may be started with just a phone call to Auburn Placer Disposal Service, 1-530-885-3735.
  5. Trash service must be set up for at least once a week service.
  6. Trash dumpsters must be set up for stab service. The type of trucks that pickup bins are front-loading with forks that come down over the top of the truck, "stab" bins and lift them over the top of the truck to dump them. Stab service is where the truck pulls up to the container/dumpster and dumps bins without the drivers having to move the bins manually.
  7. Trash enclosures must be 14' in depth and 11' in width (full 11' opening encompassing gate, etc).
  8. Sanitation vehicles must have a straight in shot to dumpsters.
  9. Sanitation vehicles are 32' long and have a 45' turning radius.
  10. Approach to enclosure must have 60 feet clearance for truck to pull in and be able to back up.
  11. There should be a curb around the sides and back of the enclosure approximately 6" wide.
  12. Gates have to be able to open 180 degrees with pins on both gates long enough to go into the ground. The pins must be able to hold the gates in position while the container is being emptied.
  13. Any enclosure for food service has to have an enclosure with a clean 11' opening and a 16' depth for the grease-rendering container to go behind the trash container.
  14. Doors must be mounted so that they clear all landscape curbing.
  15. If there is going to be a Drive-Thru the enclosure has to be built so the truck has access to the enclosure.
  16. These enclosures are built for solid waste only, not for storage of any kind.
  17. There has to be an allowance of at least 60 feet between the opening of the enclosure and to where the truck has to back up.
Please keep these requirements on file. If enclosures are not built to specifications, will serve letters will not be issued.
